ZUKUNFT Rind Alsfeld
Last weekend, the new organization Qnetics presented itself for the first time on a larger scale after the merger of LTR and ZBH at the Schau Zukunft Rind. On this regional show, the Hessian breeders presented their animals of various breeds to the public and the judges in three rings to find Hesse´s most beautiful cows.
Fleckvieh in the show-ring
The Hessian Fleckvieh cows impressed with an excellent quality. Here the judge Robert Lechner had the task in Ring three to select the most beautiful Fleckvieh cow in Hesse.
It is very pleasing that there were many excellent daughters of our sires in the individual groups.
In class 1, the later udder Champion young Tajmahal P (Sire: Incredible P) could place in front of the Hurrican daughter Rieke. In class 2, two Manigo daughters Marietta and Elli were Champion and Champion Reserve. In the group of cows with two calvings, the later winners and reserve winners of the young cow classes were already found in the first class. Here, the judge Robert Lechner went for Waldemar Loja followed by the well-known Manton subsidiary Estella, which already impressed with its outstanding udder quality at the stand and was the Champion young at the EuroGenetik show last autumn. Even the old cows (cows from three calves) bribed with their excellent quality. Here, the judge decided for the Vidal daughter Prina, who impressed by her charisma and her type followed by Gepard daughter Gulia (4 calvings). Prina was finally crowned Grand Champion of the Dual Purpose breeds.
MAGISTRAT - Progeny Group
There was also shown a progeny group of the bull MAGISTRAT, with daughters who were already in the second lactation, but in different stages of lactation. The winner of the progeny group was Magistrat daughter Anna, who already took part in the normal show competition and was able to win a class of her own.
Magistrat is a Mangope son out of Zahner from the farm Habermehl. He has meanwhile more than 760 daughters in milk and 187 daughters in the conformation. With TMI 130; Milk index 113, Beef 111 and Fitness 118 he is very balanced in his breeding values. Of the type magistrate brings the somewhat more dairy type with less muscling. At just under 550kg milk he also impressed with excellent fitness traits. In the past breeding value estimates, he was able to work his way up from GZW 123 to GZW 130 and was also able to consistently improve in the fitness area (FIT 111 & FIT 118). Its functional characteristics impress with excellent udder health and longevity combined with good fertility and milking speed.
The presented Magistrat daughters were very uniform , altjough they were already in their 2nd lactation and in different stages of the lactation. The Magistrat daughters were more dairy but overall they are very well balanced and mature animals. The medium to tall framed cows show a good rump angle and extremely fine and dry feet&legs I combination with very good claws. All udders had a strong an clearly visible suspensory ligament. Additionally the udder were long enough in the front and showed a nice texture. Finally yet importantly, the optimum teat placement make him to the ideal choice for robotic milking systems.
Elite auction sale – Top price for Imperativ daughter Evanna
The end of the show formed the elite auction in which animals of all breeds found new owners. Already before the elite auction sale, the Imperativ daughter Evanna (Imperativ x Polaroid x Everest) aroused a lot of interest. There is no often the chance to buy such a highly typed animal (GZW 139; MW 131) from an outstanding cow-family. Finally the auction ended at a top price of 27,000 euros. Evanna stems from the cow-family of the current genomic Jungvererbers POSSMAN, who is currently among the highest TMI sires in Germany. Congratulations to the breeder and the new owner.
